Psalms 18:2 NKJV

The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

Psalms 18:2 NKJV

David, a man after God's heart sang to the Lord this song in the midst of trouble. King Saul was chasing after David to kill him but David never ceased to magnify God and His power over the enemy.

We have learnt that David won many unusual battles with his enemies. Most of it speaks clearly about the miraculous power of God.

Though David was in the old covenant and did not have the promises and covenant we have today, yet he learned something that we need to learn as quickly as possible.

David learnt to trust God in every situation. David painted the picture of who God is for him in the midst of all his troubles.

We need to lift our eyes, heart and mind unto the Lord. For he is our rock in whom we should stand.

We need to learn that who we magnify will dominate our thoughts and hearts. Faith or fear is the fruit of whom we have magnified.

If fear is gripping our hearts, we need to switch our focus from the circumstances towards God.

David knew who his God is and what He can do. Do we know who our God is and what He can do?

If we know who He really is, we would do what David did and experience great and mighty things in our lives.

Rock is solid, our focus in Christ need to be solid. That means we never let anything else come in to take away our focus from God.

Jesus is the Rock of our lives.
