Acts 2:14 NKJV

But Peter, standing up with the eleven, raised his voice and said to them, “Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and heed my words. Acts 2:14 NKJV

The first spirit-filled church was birthed by the power of God's Spirit. It was birth in an uncommon way. It was not proper and it was weird and strange to the eyes and ears of the people who were there. The disciples were filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke in unknown tongues. The visual picture of the first church in Acts was speaking in tongues. This manifestation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit brought in 3000 new souls into God's kingdom that day. Peter stood up and preached the gospel of Christ with power and authority. Peter stood up for Jesus and became a witness publicly for the first time. The gift of the Holy Spirit, speaking in tongues, was flowing in the first church in Acts and should be flowing stronger today. We must not shy away from this powerful gift. We must flow in the power and gifts of the Holy Spirit. This is God's church. Therefore, church must be led by Him through His Spirit. We must not lean on our own understanding and do church according to how people like it or how people want it. We may not look dignified, professional or so organised but we have the power of His Spirit flowing and souls are being saved. Let us be bold to worship and pray in the Spirit for we can expect the unexpected things to take place when we let God be God in our church. Blessings Ambrose Francis
