Mark 14:36 NKJV

And He said, “Abba, Father, all things are possible for You. Take this cup away from Me; nevertheless, not what I will, but what You will. ” Mark 14:36 NKJV

Jesus was faced with His destiny to suffer for mankind and He had the freedom of choice to make. He saw the sufferings that were stored for Him but Jesus chose to lay Himself down for the reward that mankind will receive from Him. He knew the pain and sorrow that He will have to face, nevertheless, Jesus did it for the sake of us all. Nevertheless is a powerful statement that Jesus made. Through this, Jesus identified what was more important to Him. He also showed us that things in the kingdom of God are worth fighting for because in the end, we will receive a reward that is far better than the temporary sufferings we go through in this life. Jesus trusted the Father and said nevertheless. We too can look at the Father and see the beautiful plan and purpose He has in store for us. We may face persecutions, trials and we may be going through tribulations, yet we all know that God gives special blessings to those who overcome. Things may seem very hard at times, we may feel pressed in every side, but we must know that all things will work together for good to those who love Jesus. Jesus can put His trust in His Father because He knew His Father. Therefore, trusting Him is not an issue. We too are called to know God so that we too can stand and say nevertheless we will follow Christ Jesus our Lord no matter what is happening around us. Let us put our trust in Jesus till the end. God never fails, He is faithful. Blessings Ambrose Francis
