Luke‬ ‭5‬:‭36‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“Then He spoke a parable to them: “No one puts a piece from a new garment on an old one; otherwise the new makes a tear, and also the piece that was taken out of the new does not match the old.”

Jesus was questioned by the Pharisees about His disciples not fasting. Jesus’s disciples' behaviors were not the same as John’s disciples.

Then Jesus spoke about the parable of the wine and the wineskins.

he said no one puts a piece of a new garment on the old. For it does not have the same look, does not have the same flexibility or strength and it will tear easily.

The new wine is our new life in the spirit and our mind and body are the wineskins.

New life cannot grow in an old mindset and therefore it cannot produce the new life in our bodies.

Our minds need to be renewed, refreshed, and restored according to the new life we have received in Christ.

So many people who believe in Jesus know the scriptures but have not changed their thought pattern. They remain in the old mindset.

We believe God is faithful and that He never leaves us nor forsake us yet we pray Lord please be with us as we go on our journey.

That is the new life in the old mindset. New life in a new mindset will be praying "Thank you Lord for you are living in me and guiding me in this journey."

When we begin to align our words, our mindset, and our actions according to the promises of God then our wineskins will hold and manifest the new life we have received.

The mind needs to be changed and we need to be intentional.

We need to take time to renew our minds and adjust our vocabularies and our lifestyle according to God and His word.

If we keep exercising the new life we have received through Christ then our new life becomes so evident and becomes so natural to us.

Let us keep working out all that we have received from Jesus and experience the promises of God.
