“The woman then left her waterpot, went her way into the city, and said to the men,”
John 4:28 NKJV
The Samaritan woman at the well came at noon when nobody was around, indicating the state of her life and her brokenness inside.
When she conversed with Jesus, she did not realise that she is getting healed of her brokenness and being cleansed from her shame.
At the end of the conversation, she got the revelation and found answers to her life.
She dropped her water pot.
She came to meet her temporal need but Jesus met her eternal need and satisfaction.
Instead of rushing to take the water and go back home, she spent time with Jesus and got to know who He is.
She walked away having found her Saviour and being filled while beginning with a new purpose in life. She brought the village people to Jesus.
God wants to turn our dry desert into a fountain that gives life. If we take time to hear Him, we will walk in His abundance.
The revelation of who Jesus is brought such liberation to the Samaritan woman. The revelation of who Jesus is for us will bring such liberty and victory to our lives.
We need to be ready to drop our water pots when we receive the revelation so that we can go forth and fulfil God’s purpose in our lives.
