‭‭Matthew‬ ‭20‬:‭10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“But when the first came, they supposed that they would receive more; and they likewise received each a denarius.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭20‬:‭10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Jesus spoke a parable about what the kingdom of God looks like and gave us this illustration.

There were servants who started work first and some who started work at the last hour.

Each one received their wages as promised.

The one who came first was dissatisfied to receive the same amount as the one who came at the last hour.

If we are serving, working and doing things better than others so that we can have a greater reward, we will be disappointed, discouraged and even feel betrayed.

But if we serve knowing that we are privileged to be called to work and are thankful that we actually got the job and our wages are secured for the day, month or year, we won’t be disappointed or become calculative about the things around us.

We are not to serve, work or minister by looking at others.

We are called to bring out our best every day for our Lord and King.

For the One who has promised has delivered all that we need in life.

Therefore, whatever we do, we should be thankful, and whatever we receive, we should be thankful.

Gratefulness will open doors continuously but a murmuring and a heavy heart will close the door on itself.

God, who is just, loving and kind, has prepared and taken care of everything.

Therefore, let us do everything from our heart unto the Lord and give Him the praise for we have been chosen for His purpose.

Blessings
