Mark 2:22 NKJV

And no one puts new wine into old wineskins; or else the new wine bursts the wineskins, the wine is spilled, and the wineskins are ruined. But new wine must be put into new wineskins.”

Mark 2:22 NKJV

Jesus gave us this picture to understand the new life we have in Christ cannot be contained in the old covenant, old law and our old image.

The new covenant, new life and the new law of the Spirit of God are to be lived as a new creation in Christ Jesus.

We need to think through the finished work of Christ. We need to analyse everything through our new identity in Christ Jesus.

Our faith in Christ cannot be entangled with the old self, old mindset and without the inheritance.

Our faith in Christ must be flowing out of our true identity in Christ and as one who has inherited God's blessing.

If we try to use our old mindset or old covenant identity and mix it with the new, we are going to spoil the final product that we should have.

We need to take hold of our new identity in Christ and intentionally change our old thinking to God's kind of thinking by renewing our mind with His promises.

It's important we rehearse our new life in Christ and not repeat our old nature. The more we rehearse and exercise our new life in Christ, the new wine will mature and will flow out for its purpose.

Let us do everything that is needed to rehearse, exercise, meditate and put into practice this new life we have received in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Start with one area at a time and work out our salvation that we have received in every area of our lives.
