Colossians 2:2 AMP
[For my hope is] that their hearts may be encouraged as they are knit together in [unselfish] love, so that they may have all the riches that come from the full assurance of understanding [the joy of salvation], resulting in a true [and more intimate] knowledge of the mystery of God, that is, Christ,
Colossians 2:2 AMP
Paul is writing to the Laodicean church whom some have not met Paul. Paul wanted to encourage the people to live in the abundance of God.
Paul is sharing some key elements to live in the abundance that Christ has established in them.
When Jesus Christ our Lord lives in us, He is in us with the whole package. Jesus is the abundance of heaven to all mankind.
We have the abundance in us but we don't see the manifestation of that abundance in our lives. Maturity is so important in handling God's kingdom.
Just like we would not allow a child who is not mature or knows how to use the knife in the house. God would not allow us to flow in the things of the Spirit with selfish ambitions.
Paul prayed that they would be knit together in UNSELFISH love. When they desire to be a blessing to one another and to their community, then what God has put into their lives can start to manifest.
When we know to give God all the credit and glory, then we will see the manifestation of God's kingdom through our lives.
When the unselfish love of what I want and what I need is out of the way, and when we start having the whole body of Christ in our hearts then we can flow in a deeper and intimate knowledge of God.
God desires us to live in all the riches that comes from the full assurance in Christ. It is not meant to be just in us. It is designed to flow out of our lives and turn sorrows into joy and mend brokenness with a true love of God.
Jesus came not for Himself but for others. So are we, designed for one another to be built up into a spiritual house of God.
