I Corinthians 5:7 NKJV
Therefore purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, since you truly are unleavened. For indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us.
I Corinthians 5:7 NKJV
Paul writes to bring correction and rebuke to the saints that have taken the grace of God for granted.
Some did things worse than the unbelievers and professed to be approved by God.
When we give heed to the works of the flesh, we have fallen from grace. Whether in strength or weakness.
Our glory is in the strength, power, deliverance, restoration and love of God and not in indulging ourselves to suit our flesh.
When we give heed to the Holy Spirit and yield our members of the body to Him, the grace, power and the love of God will be evident in our lives.
We are not the old leaven that projects destruction or confusion but we are a new leaven that projects Christ, brings life and love to all.
We need to purge ourselves from every evil thoughts and deeds with what Christ has done for us.
The way we purge ourselves from the world is to have the mind of Christ occupy our mind. Filling our mind with our new identity in Christ.
We are who we are because of what we think and believe. We become what we project in our minds and our hearts.
God's grace enables us to live in His power to eliminate the control and power of sin.
Let us live a life that projects God's power, grace and love because that's what Christ has done for us.
