Matthew 13:8 NKJV
“But others fell on good ground and yielded a crop: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.”
Matthew 13:8 NKJV
One of the most important lessons Jesus gave us through the parable of the sower and the seed is the condition of the ground.
The word of God is the seed and it is a perfect seed. On the other hand, the ground is not perfect because of our fallen nature.
If we try to do something with our old nature, no good thing will come out of it.
This is the reason Jesus died for our sins and replaced our old ground which is defiled and gave us a new ground that is perfect and good.
Therefore, if we align our hearts and minds according to Jesus and what He has done for us, then we become a good ground.
Jesus said if we remain in Him and His word remains in us, we will bear much fruit.
Remaining in Jesus means bringing ourselves into total agreement with what He has done for us.
It means we are constantly remaining in our new nature as how He has clothed us. We present ourselves as a living sacrifice unto Him.
We must be constant in remaining in Christ and believe in all that He has done for us. Never take our eyes off Him or think of anything else other than what He says.
We must be quick to cast off every thought that rises against our right standing with God.
We must pull down every habit and lifestyle that is not in line with what Jesus has done for us.
We all have received a seed which is God’s word. We all have the potential to produce a hundredfold fruit but it will all depend on how we present our ground to receive God’s word.
How we take in the seed into our lives matters. It will show up in our harvest. Either it is thirty, sixty, or a hundredfold.
Let us continue to yield ourselves to God - spirit, soul, and body, presenting ourselves daily in agreement with what Jesus has done for us.
