Mark 11:6 NKJV

And they spoke to them just as Jesus had commanded. So they let them go.

Mark 11:6 NKJV

Jesus commanded two of his disciples to go to the village on the opposite side and ask them to bring the donkey that is tied to someone's house.

Jesus gave them clear instructions as to what to say if anyone asks.

The two disciples went in obedience, risking their lives to take the donkey from someplace and someone they don't know.

There are many things that we can learn from this passage. Two of those are the fulfilment of the scriptures and the power of the words of Jesus.

Firstly, it is not just about getting the donkey for Jesus. It is about the prophecy being fulfiled.

Two of His disciples may not have a clue of the part they are playing in fulfiling the prophecy for the Messiah.

They were part of this amazing piece in the puzzle not because they knew it but because they were obedient.

The second is the power of Jesus's word. When Jesus spoke, everything that is needed for that provision was set in place.

People may not understand. People may not know what is happening but all will yield to God's word.

The people-watching might be the owner or just people watching in the neighbourhood.

In a village that knows everybody, no stranger can just walk in and take what they like. But what got them to take the donkey is Jesus's word.

We all have a role in the kingdom of God daily. Prophecies are being fulfilled and the word of God need to go out to change what is needed to be changed and transform what needs transformation.

We may not understand. That is ok because only obedience to His word gets the work done in the kingdom of God.

Therefore let us walk in obedience and know that provisions are already in place according to His word.
