Luke 9:60 NKJV
Jesus said to him, βLet the dead bury their own dead, but you go and preach the kingdom of God.β Luke 9:60 NKJV
Jesus calls us to make disciples and not converts. Therefore all of us are disciples of Christ. There is a cost involved to be a disciple of Christ. This is not the kind of cost like the system of the world that you have to pay to get in. The cost in the kingdom of God does not speak about attaining the divine nature of God or doing anything to be qualified. As a disciple of Christ, we all have the divine nature of God and have the kingdom of God within us. The cost of being a disciple in the kingdom of God involves us carrying out God's kingdom with diligence, perseverance, love, patience and with all the fruit of the spirit. This is because we have made many excuses with regards to the kingdom of God. The first fall, Adam and Eve did not acknowledge what they have done and pointed to someone else. Today, we as a church are doing the same thing that is pointing our prayers to God saying it is His responsibility. We ask God for revival, we ask God to open our eyes, we ask God to open our heart, we ask God to save souls, we ask God to do this and that. When the truth of God's word reveals that it is our duty to do all that with His power and grace. For God is not the one who close our heart, eyes or stopping revival. It is we who have not made the choice to grow in the abundance of God. It is we who is not doing what has been established by Jesus. This is the truth that when we stop making excuses and start to learn to yield to Him by doing what He has said and given, then we will see His glory manifest in this world. Let us take hold of His kingdom and with perseverance, faith and love carry it out daily in everything we do. Blessings Ambrose Francis
