Psalms 119:37 NKJV
Turn away my eyes from looking at worthless things, And revive me in Your way.
Psalms 119:37 NKJV
Our eyes are usually fixed on the things that have been programmed in our mind to see. What dominates our heart and mind will affect the way we see things.
Joshua and Caleb did see a different promise land. Joshua and Caleb saw the same land that the other spies saw.
What causes Joshua to see differently from the spies was that Joshua and Caleb have God's promises dominating their mind.
Though the giants and the impossible situation is real in the natural, Joshua and Caleb put their faith and focus on the God of the possible.
We only see what we have programmed ourselves to see. What we valued most will dominate our thoughts and decisions therefore it will cause us to see what we are anticipating to see according to our beliefs.
Lifting our eyes from worthless things does not just happen by training our eyes to see good things. Good things must first enter our heart and mind then our seeing would be a natural result of what is already in our hearts.
It is very important to know that in the new covenant it is not God's responsibility to input His word into us but we ourselves need to be discipline to enter into His word daily.
When His Word has been framed in our hearts and minds, no matter how dark it may seem we will always see the light.
Never take what is passing away as a final result but take God and His promises as our stand always.
There is no good things that can come out of looking at defeat, miseries and pain because good is not found in bad.
The good we need is found in the good that is in God and His promises. Therefore we need to fix our heart, mind and eyes on Christ and in Him alone.
