Galatians 6:12 NKJV
As many as desire to make a good showing in the flesh, these would compel you to be circumcised, only that they may not suffer persecution for the cross of Christ.
Galatians 6:12 NKJV
Paul is talking about people who love to observe ceremonies to show off their holiness and so-called obedience.
They love to show off the deeds of the flesh because they don't want to suffer the persecution of the cross of Christ.
To suffer the persecution of Christ means to deny the flesh and come into total agreement with all that Jesus HAS made us to be in Him.
What Paul is teaching is to strip off every bit of the flesh that tries to take credit to present ourselves holy, good and saved before mankind.
When we follow Christ and all that He has done for us on the cross, the observers of ceremonies, rituals and religious beliefs will be against us.
We who believe in Jesus boast only in what Christ has done. Let us stand in His works and follow His directions according to all that He has accomplished for us.
All attachments to the flesh, works that appeal to our feelings, appeal to our emotions or any form of religious activities that makes us feel holy, sanctified and blameless need to be replaced by believing in Jesus.
Jesus came to earth to save us from being dead to be living in the spirit. Therefore, everything we do must align with the Spirit which is according to the Spirit's nature.
God, who is Spirit will not ask us to observe things according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
What we do, what we say and how we live life needs to be out of His image and likeness which is in the Spirit.
Let us see every word of God through His Spirit and live by them.
Blessings
