John 8:3 NKJV
Then the scribes and Pharisees brought to Him a woman caught in adultery. And when they had set her in the midst,
John 8:3 NKJV
The religious leaders brought a woman who was caught sinning to be punished. They asked Jesus what would He do to her.
When a person is caught sinning, usually they are sorry for what they have done especially if the punishment is to be stoned to death.
Jesus, instead of judging this woman, He judged the accusers. All those who surrounded this woman to carry out the judgement is judged by Jesus because everyone has sinned against God.
Jesus, once at the temple, made a whip and drove everyone out of the temple, turning the tables of the
money changers.
Everything we do carries consequences, which could be bad consequences or good consequences. What we do today will feed us back tomorrow.
Some judgements need to be carried out to stop those with authority yet intentionally want to hurt people and destroy lives.
But the judgement that needs to be forgiven is when a person chooses to turn away from their evil deeds.
The important thing is that we must not find ourselves as one of the accusers among the crowds but we must be found as an instrument of God's grace and mercy.
We need to be gracious to help people come out of their habits and lifestyle that destroys their life.
Let us be Christ to the world, giving help that is crying out for second chances to make things right.
