Romans 6:19 NKJV
“I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you presented your members as slaves of uncleanness, and of lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves of righteousness for holiness.”
Romans 6:19 NKJV
Paul did not want to use this illustration which is from the negative perspective.
Because they are so wound up in their fallen nature instead of their heavenly nature, Paul used this illustration.
What Paul is saying that people don’t really have a problem accepting failures, lack, bad news and always looking at the worst case scenarios.
When a joyful person hears a report from their doctor, even though nothing has happened yet, they already see themself dying, they start preparing their will and getting ready when that happens.
That’s having faith in the wrong thing, believing the wrong thing and hoping for the wrong thing.
Day by day people have no problem presenting themselves to condemnation and guilt. It takes no persuasion to their faults and failures.
Paul is saying just as we so easily admit to the negativity, take that same principle, energy, commitment, imagination and persuasion towards what God has done.
Paul says to offer ourselves to God as righteous and holy. Start living as what God has said.
Just as things grow worse when one is meditating on the bad things and doing it, so also we will grow from strength to strength if we give ourselves to meditating and doing what God has said.
When we say we can’t do it, it’s a lie for we have been doing it all of our lives. It’s just that we are doing the opposite way from God.
Repent, which means to TURN DIRECTIONS.
Turn from looking at the bad news, bad things and bad memories and turn to look at God, His news, His favour, His love, His peace, grace and power.
The day we choose to turn our attention to God, it will be a day of progress to succeed in life.
Let us sow all of our efforts in the right place, build on the right foundation and become productive in every aspect of our lives.
Blessings
