“which all concern things which perish with the using—according to the commandments and doctrines of men?”

‭‭Colossians‬ ‭2‬:‭22‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Paul’s letter shares that if we set our minds to the do’s and don’ts, observing laws and symbolism,

we are going to miss the bigger picture.

When we set our lives on what we must not do, things to avoid and what not to be part of, we become so consumed by it that we have no time to put in what is needed.

Seeking God, His kingdom and His righteousness is the most important part of our lives.

For it will shape us to behold our true identity and our true image which is of God.

We can’t expect to see God’s glory if we are stuck thinking about what not to do.

We need to look at God, do what He wants us to do and live out what He has set for us.

The law was given to manage our flesh, to bring our flesh to a place of needing a saviour.

But grace was given to come alive as a spirit being, to bring changes to our soul and our body.

God, who is Spirit, made us a spirit being to walk in the spirit and not according to the flesh.

Let us put aside every regulation of man and let God’s image shape our soul and manifest His glory through our lives.
