Ephesians 6:5 NKJV
Bondservants, be obedient to those who are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in sincerity of heart, as to Christ; Ephesians 6:5 NKJV
God has designed that in some manner and in some ways we all are under some sort of leadership or influence. This is so that we will develop and mature and progress in areas of our lives with patience and endurance, with humility and reachability. Whoever and whatever form of leadership we are under, God wants us to serve and do our best as unto Him. It is unto the Lord, therefore, whatever we are doing and whichever way we are serving, it must be in agreement with the Lord. If our leaders and masters want us to do things that are against the Lord, then that is definitely not unto the Lord. We are not to do anything if it is against the Lord even if it is the order of our leaders or masters who are over us. If we do what is not right because our leaders told us to do it, we then will be held accountable and not our masters or our leaders. We cannot do it unto the Lord if it is against the Lord. Serving unto the Lord means it is in accordance to God's word. When we work for our employer or serve our leaders, we ought to do our best and use every opportunity to shine. This will help us develop every gifting, talent and grow our abilities to take on greater things in life. The better we serve as unto the Lord, the better we become a good steward for the kingdom. We will leave a great example that will change the system of this world. When we do it unto the Lord, we must not depend on our employer or our leaders for rewards. We must fix our eyes unto the Lord and look to Him for His reward will be far above what we could ever ask or think. We may be treated badly, unfairly in many ways and harsh yet we must continue to serve the Lord and not man. Joseph's journey is an example of this. He served his best from prison to palace. He served unto the Lord. So in everything we do, let us do it unto the Lord, to the best of our knowledge serving the Lord as we serve one another. Blessings
