‭‭I John‬ ‭5‬:‭14‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.”

‭‭I John‬ ‭5‬:‭14‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

The apostle John was speaking of the assurance and confidence that each believer should have when it comes to communicating with God.

Here in verse 14, apostle John talks about the confidence that we need to have in Christ. Otherwise, our prayers will not be in confidence of what Christ has done but will be on everything else.

Therefore, our prayers and our approach have to be according to all that Jesus had prepared for His children.

If we know what Jesus has established for us, if we know what we have received through Christ, if we understand that the authority and power have been given to us to execute His kingdom here on earth, then our prayers will be effective and powerful.

Asking according to His Will is basically walking in everything that Jesus has done for us. That is living by faith in the Son of God.

If we pray Lord, please be with me, and other religious prayers, that is not according to God’s will.

Jesus established a covenant that He will never leave us nor forsakes us. Prayers according to His will is Lord, thank You that You live in me, never forsake me and I can live confidently in You.

The answer to our prayer is found in the finished work of Christ. It is not found in our wants or based on our problems.

As a child of God, we have received abundance that is far above what anyone can offer.

Our prayers and our standing before God have to be in accordance to what Jesus has established for us.

We need to pray a believing prayer according to what Christ has done.

We are not to pray prayers that seem like Christ has left some unfinished work and we have to ask Him to do it.

Jesus has completed every detail and left nothing behind. That is the confidence we stand by, and by faith we walk and thank Jesus for all that He has done.

Let us align our prayers according to all that Jesus has established, and live boldly and confidently in Him.

Blessings
