“And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking.”

Simon Peter got a lot of fish as he did what Jesus said. Jesus was not a fisherman, He was a carpenter's son yet Simon did it because He believed what Jesus spoke.

Simon Peter was fishing all night, caught nothing and have washed their nets.

It seems like everything is over for the day and they did their best to catch some fish.

But it’s not all over because they had the one who has the final word. When Jesus spoke, they launched out and caught a great number of fish.

Sometimes we feel like we have done everything, we even feel we have done what Jesus has said but see nothing.

We need to listen to Him and not to our desires. Some have strong desires that they think it is God who is speaking.

Surrender everything to Him, look to Him and hear Him speak. We need to go beyond our wants and ponder not at what have not worked.

For Simon, he did the same thing but had different results. He was launching his nets all night and caught nothing but at Jesus’s word, Simon launched and got more than enough.

Don’t be broken because things did not happen, don’t live life as if things are hanging on the thread.

We need to live life confidently in Jesus, Son of the living God and follow His word.

Whatever the situation may be or look like, all we need is a word from our Saviour and all that God has for us will be ours.

Let us not look at the things of the past but look at Jesus and hear what He is saying to us.
