Psalms 62:5 NKJV
“My soul, wait silently for God alone, For my expectation is from Him.”
Psalms 62:5 NKJV
David is speaking to his soul to silently wait for God alone. There were many words that want to come out of David’s mouth that had the ability to compromise his blessings.
David learnt to silence his thoughts and his words that may be contrary to the promises of God.
David reminded himself that his expectations were focused on God alone. His expectations did not come from his position, his power but in God alone.
There were many things that happened in David’s life. He has made some bad decisions in life but one thing he desired and that he sought, that he may dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
We all have made mistakes in life and have made some bad decisions too but if we would desire to follow Jesus all the days of our lives, we can be assured to enjoy the blessings the Lord had prepared.
Let us silence every voice, word and thought that is contrary to the word of God and focus on expecting good things from our Father in heaven.
Blessings
