John 13:5 NKJV

After that, He poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel with which He was girded.

John 13:5 NKJV

Just before Jesus was arrested, Jesus did something very important. He showed us something so powerful about leadership.

Jesus led the disciples for a few years and taught the disciples many lessons but in the end, before He gave Himself to be crucified, He washed His disciples' feet.

Jesus is the greatest leader, the Son of God, a miracle Worker and the Saviour of the world yet He would wash His disciples' feet.

True leaders in the kingdom of God are servant leaders. It means their position or title will not stand in the way to serve each other with respect, care and love.

True leaders will do their best to serve those whom God has sent, to develop them so they be better than themselves.

Jesus took off His garment to wash His disciples' feet. This shows us that our titles or positions do not stop us from getting our hands dirty with work.

Jesus shows us that He honoured His disciples by serving them. This is an important value that we too should plant the seed of honour into the leaders we are developing.

We are all instruments of God to lead someone. We lead in our school, workplace, in ministry and in every sphere of influence.

Let us lead others as Jesus did, honouring them and giving our best to them.

Blessings
