Hebrews 11:21 NKJV

By faith Jacob, when he was dying, blessed each of the sons of Joseph, and worshiped, leaning on the top of his staff.

Hebrews 11:21 NKJV

This seems to be a unique picture. Someone who is dying yet leaning on top of his staff to bless the sons of Joseph.

The staff has so many meanings and one of them speaks of the authority and blessings of God over lives. The staff was significant and was seen in the miracles of God before Pharaoh, right through to the promised land.

It is also said that every time that God does something wonderful in the lives of the people, they would carve a mark on their staff to remind them of God's protection and blessings.

So when Jacob blessed the sons of Joseph leaning on top of his staff, it would mean that Jacob by faith leaned on the top of everything that he had experienced with God, the faithfulness of God and His deliverance.

Jacob blessed the sons of Joseph by resting in every experience he had with God. Jacob was putting his faith with the evidence of what God did for him, God will do for them.

What are the marks we carry today in our hearts? Is it a scar of hurt, grief and pain that was caused by someone?

Or are we carrying the goodness of God, His love, His word and His miracles in our hearts and minds?

How are we blessing our children today? What we are standing on today?

This is so important today for us because what we stand on today is what we are going to use to bless others.

We need to start gathering evidence of God's faithfulness in our lives. Gather His blessings and His kindness and keep them over our hearts and minds.

Looking and living in the blessings of God is to keep our eyes on what He has done, what He is doing and what He is going to do.

Let us lean on top of everything God has done in our lives and on His promises.

Blessings
