For, in fact, we told you before when we were with you that we would suffer tribulation, just as it happened, and you know.

As believers in Jesus Christ, persecutions or tribulations are part of our lives. Jesus said that in this world we will have tribulations but we are to be of good cheer because He has overcome the world.

Persecutions or tribulations should not be a surprise to believers when it comes. It should be something that we are aware of so when it comes, we don't drown in it but walk over it as Jesus did.

Many believers when persecuted will complain and murmur to God questioning why did this happen to me? Many are shocked when persecution comes their way.

Every believer will face persecution no matter how good we have carried ourselves in God.

God wants us to be developed through those persecutions and tribulations, to be stronger and wiser in Him.

Every spiritual gift in our lives will be tested, challenged and questioned. This is when we know how deep we have anchored our faith in Christ.

God did not promise a trouble-free life or a life free from persecution. God promised us that by faith through Him we can overcome all our challenges.

Every spiritual muscle strengthens, grows and matures when we are tested and tried just like gold and precious stones.

Let us face our tribulations and persecutions with great hope in Christ who has given us the victory over it.
