“You did not anoint My head with oil, but this woman has anointed My feet with fragrant oil.”

Oil is such an important source of need in our life. Oil in those days speaks of wealth, offerings and substance for everyday use.

Jesus said to all who are around Him that they did not give attention to Him as how this woman gave her attention to Jesus.

She did not just brought the ordinary oil but a very costly oil which is her treasure. Oil that can be sold, some say for around 300 denarii which is estimated around 54,000 US dollars.

This woman did not just give her expensive oil but gave her heart, her life and devotion.

Jesus talked about her tears and her hair more than the oil. It’s her deep conviction of who Jesus is for her.

We can see how much she valued Jesus, the disciples can see how much she valued Jesus and the world will continues to know how much she valued Jesus in her life.

Her value for Jesus is reflected in her actions and in her devotion towards Jesus.

She received much from the Lord and her story will be told till the end of the world.

Who would have thought that such act will win her story in a book called The Breath of God. That many would read and learn to treasure Jesus more than anything else.

Our life can be a testament to all if we keep living for Jesus, hold Him as our treasure and allow Him to live through us.

She was willing to give up her earthly treasure for Jesus and follow Him.

Let us also examine our hearts and minds and see if Jesus actually has the first place in our life. Let our actions speak of that value every day.
