“Open your hearts to us. We have wronged no one, we have corrupted no one, we have cheated no one.”

‭‭II Corinthians‬ ‭7‬:‭2‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

This was Paul’s plea for the Corinthians to open up their hearts to receive him and the teachings he brought.

As in the previous chapter, Paul rebuked the Corinthians of their stand in Christ being tainted by many things like bringing back religious works, gossips, hatred towards Paul’s rebuke.

Paul is saying that all this is done not for him but for their own good so they can live in the truth.

Some of the Corinthians took Paul’s rebuke in a wrong way.

Paul’s intention was not to condemn nor bring anyone down but to help everyone to stand in the true gospel of the kingdom Jesus established.

The word of God is a double-edged sword. It will cut off all religious beliefs.

If we don’t yield to the pruning of God’s word and His Spirit in us.

We will fall away into believing a lie and miss out on the good things Christ has stored up for us.

We must be careful not to let our old beliefs block the revelation that God is bringing out to us by His Spirit.

Every word of God is alive, active and powerful to correct, reproof and to build us up in God’s image.

Paul’s heart was misunderstood by some and the same today, many misunderstand the truth and rejected it because they prefer to hold on to what they are familiar with.

Let us behold the new that God is showing us through His Spirit and through His word.

Blessings
