Psalms 134:2 NKJV
“Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, And bless the Lord.”
Psalms 134:2 NKJV
The priests in the old covenant in the temple lifted their hands as a total surrender in worship unto God.
Everything that happens in the temple is supposed to be done exactly as the word of God had commanded.
The way they praise is not according to how they feel, nor is it according to their personality, but it is according to the written word of God.
They have to gather themselves together with all their emotions, will and desire to submit to God’s word in order to praise God.
The reason is not to take away their rights as a person but to bring them into their real identity, to bring enlightenment to who their God really is.
In the new covenant, Jesus said that those who worship MUST worship in Spirit and in Truth.
As a new covenant believer and followers of Christ, we don’t worship according to our mood, not according to our personality, but according to what Christ has made us in the spirit.
We are born again as a spiritual being. Therefore, our worship should be according to what Christ has made us to be.
We worship as a new creation of God that has been set free, healed, delivered and created in His image.
So let us bring every part of us, every fibre of our being to worship in Spirit and in Truth.
Blessings
