“Now you Philippians know also that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church shared with me concerning giving and receiving but you only.”

Paul was very thankful and grateful to the Philippians for they had been a great encouragement to Paul in preaching the gospel.

It is a character of our Saviour and Lord Jesus Christ. He came to give so that we may have life more abundantly.

The fact that God wants us to have more than enough is for us to be givers just like Him, especially toward the expansion of His kingdom.

Our giving has a purpose to encourage, strengthen and help to spread the good news of the gospel.

God gives the increase, and that increase has its purpose and that purpose needs to be established.

Therefore, God is looking for good stewards, stewards whom He can trust with true riches, who will not consume everything but know how to use it for His kingdom.

We are all givers in Christ.

If we learn to give, we will see the abundance flowing out of our lives.

One of the characteristics of love is giving and not taking. When we love God, giving becomes an expression of our love toward God and His kingdom.

Let us be generous givers and experience the overflowing generosity of our God.
