‭‭II Peter‬ ‭3‬:‭1‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“Beloved, I now write to you this second epistle (in both of which I stir up your pure minds by way of reminder),”

‭‭II Peter‬ ‭3‬:‭1‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Peter wrote to remind all believers to stir up their minds in the purity of the gospel of Christ that has been confirmed through the prophets and manifested to all mankind.

Jesus Christ is the manifestation to the entire world and He is the only foundation that we can build on that will never be shaken.

This echoes Paul’s teachings that we are to meditate on the Word and fill our minds with the purity of God.

We are to set in our minds always on the things Christ has done for us. We must not move away from setting our minds on Christ's finished work.

There were false teachers who wanted to uphold the works of the flesh instead of the work of the Holy Spirit.

Every work of Christ is in the past tense which means it is all done and established for us.

We need to stir ourselves up in the Lord. We need to stir one another to be fully led by the Holy Spirit.

It was necessary for Peter to write this so that we would not give in to talks and actions that were not profitable for the kingdom of God.

By sharing and keeping each other accountable towards the finished work of Christ, it will only benefit us in our knowledge of God.

Let us be fervent in pressing on towards the upward call of god.

Blessings
