“So the three mighty men broke through the camp of the Philistines, drew water from the well of Bethlehem that was by the gate, and took it and brought it to David. Nevertheless he would not drink it, but poured it out to the Lord.”

There were 3 men listed among David’s mighty men. These three men heard David’s longings for a cup of water in the midst of the enemy's stronghold.

These three men risked their lives, broke through the Philistines camp and drew water from the well of Bethlehem and brought a cup of water to David.

These three men desired to do what David desired in his heart. They heard what was in David’s heart.

Our Father longs for His creation and His children to be saved. He longs that none should perish but have everlasting life.

As David’s might men heard David’s heart and gave their lives for a cup of water for their leader, how much more wonderful if we would hear the heart beat of the Father and do what’s in His heart.

So often, everything we do for God has our interest in it. So that we will be blessed and remain in His abundance.

That is great and God wants us to have all but how many of us look into His heart, His desire and bring something that He really desires.

What do we see that is His desire, what do we feel that is in His heart and what do we do about what He loves.

Jesus's love towards the Father is evident in Jesus laying down His life for all mankind because that is what was in the Father's heart.

We too have the opportunity to love the Father, love the Son and love the Holy Spirit as we love one another with the love of God.

Let us take this opportunity to be a part of God’s mighty people by loving each other, reaching out to the lost and bring them to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
